Years Medallion

I bought a POTC pirate medallion from disneyland…markings on the back?

What do the markings on the back of the medallion mean? Cuz in the movie, you see both sides and they are the same. The markings on the back of mine have a staircase-looking line connected to a spiral and off the the side, a circle with a bigger circle around it. My friend bought one two years ago with the same markings from the El Capitan theater. What does this design mean?

If you are talking about the skull medallion that Elizabeth wears in Curse of the Black Pearl, here is all that i know:
-the medallion is a piece of Aztec Gold (based on the movie)
-on the front of the coin is a skull surrounded by a design. this design is the Aztec calendar.
-as for the staircase on the backside of the coin, all i can discover on the web is that a symbol SIMILAR to it was found in Copan, Honduras on an actual staircase in the ruins of an arena. the staircase is a SYMBOL for climbing the stairway to the heavens(sorry to go all led zeppelin on you). when the ruins were discovered, the stairway was collapsed due to several earthquakes in the area.

the “stairway to heaven” bit really caught my eye. perhaps a symbol for the LAST STEP of the stairway that the pirates need to be freed from the curse or maybe its just a coincidence.
