What would a 1917 wheat penny be worth?

I had another question earlier about pennies but now I have another. In counting my pennies I found a 1917 penny with the wheat sheaf on the back. How much would that be worth?

The biggest factor in the value of coins is the condition of the coin. In average circulated condition a dealer might give you 60 to 75 cents for the coin. He would then turn around and sell it for maybe $1.25. If it had a “D” mint mark it would change this a little bit but not much. If the obverse (front) looks like it was imprinted twice then you would be looking at something around $180 to $200 even in average circulated condition. You need a good magnifying glass and you need to look carefully at the details to check for a double die error coin.

Otherwise you have a pretty cool conversation piece.
