What Is The Military Order Of The Purple Heart?
The Military Order of the Purple Heart (MOPH) was founded by Congress over 70 years ago. The Military Order of the Purple Heart is sometimes also just referred to as Purple Heart. It is a non-profit national military veterans organization. The Purple Heart organization is especially suited for the needs of veterans and funds welfare, rehabilitation and educational programs. The Purple Heart also offers suport for veteran´s families.
The funding for these causes comes mostly from the sale of items, including cars and other household items, donated to the Purple Heart.
What is the Military Order of the Purple Heart?
Before going any further, lets just see what exactly is the Purple Heart.
The Purple Heart is a US military decoration awarded in the name of the President of the United States to anyone that has been wounded or killed in active duty. The Purple Heart was first awarded on April 5, 1917.
The Purple Heart was established by first Presindent of the United States (George Washington) and was initially called the Badge of Military Merit. The Purple Heart is the oldest military decoration.
The Purple Heart medals being awarded today are part of the 500000 medals done for WW II but that were never used.
One of the differences between The Purple Heart and other medals is that no recommendation is needed for the Purple Heart, You are automaticaly eligible for a Purple Heart medal if you are ounded or killed while on active duty.
Examples of two famous people that received the Purple Heart medal are Charles Bronson and Oliver Stone.
How to make a donation Purple Heart?
One of the benefits of donating to the Purple Heart is the tax deductible nature of the donations. You can probably get a larger tax deduction than you otherwise would have received if you decided to sell items. All while avoiding the hassles associated with selling your stuff. Cars, household items, and clothing are just a few examples of items you can donate to the Purple Heart.

How to make a donation the Purple Heart
You can donate usable clothing to the Purple Heart, household items and cars to the Purple Heart. Items are picked-up at your house at no cost to you through the Purple Heart pickup service. To accept your donation, the items need to be in usable condition.
For car donations, you can fill out an online form or call the Purple Hearts toll free number to arrange for a pickup. Again, at no cost to you. After contacting the Purple Heart, a towing company will get in contact with you to arrange for removal of the car. For income tax purposes The Purple Heart organization will send you a tax deductible donation receipt once your car is received.
There have been over 500000 cars donated to the Purple Heart.
