Hawaii: The Water Sportsman’s Paradise

Hawaii has so many interesting opportunities, even more than most other vacation spots, that the inner adventurer in many people just shivers with excitement. Apart from shopping in Oahu’s big cities, you canalso immerse yourself in the local cultural activities on the North Shore. The Pearl Harbor memorial is also a great favorite with visitors.

Golfers are offered with a range of golf courses which are scattered over all Hawaii’s islands. A seasoned or an enthusiast may be excited over the world-class greens here. There are also golf courses that cater to the more casual player. You may even bring the whole family there, as fees in these laid-back golf courses are small or don’t exist at all!

All that said, the thing concerning Hawaii is its incredible water sports. This American state is one of the most excellent surfing venues in the world. The waves here are major! Actually, surfing was born in Hawaii. The most well-known surfing spots are in Oahu and also Maui, but pretty much every beach in Hawaii is fine. Newcomers to the sport better go to Oahu’s Waikiki Beach and Maui’s Lahaina and let the pros take the North Shore.

Diving and Snorkeling are another famous activity for vacationers in Hawaii. There are some world famous dive spots such as molokini crater situated off the coast of Maui. You can expect to see a wide variety of sea creatures here, like, sharks, sea turtles, rays, as well as tons of different tropical fish. This is a great spot for snorkeling, and also scuba diving. In case you are anxious to try scuba, but do not think that you are completely ready; you could try a combination of the two called snuba. That is similar to scuba in that you have an air supply; however, it is attached to the boat and it floats above you. With scuba, however, you have to carry your air supply with you in a tank on your back. It is a good compromise in case you want to get a feel for breathing underwater, but aren’t quite ready to make the scuba commitment.

The winds in Maui make it the top place to windsurf or do some kite boarding stunts. Flying a kite when wake boarding may sound easy, but kite boarding has perplexed a good number of individuals with its difficulty to master.

Hawaiians have been kayaking since ancient times. If kayaking is your thing, Hawaii is the place to be. All of the islands have something different to give. On Oahu, Kailua Bay is a famous kayaking spot, where you could paddle over to an uninhabited island for some respite for the extremely busy Waikiki Beach. On Maui Kealakekua Bay is a fantastic place for Kayaking. These waters are responsible for the downfall of Captain Cook. Molokai provides some great kayaking for the more experienced paddlers. Whatever your water sport pleasure is, Hawaii is certain to please.
