Unknown Ancient
Prove to me that the Story of God is not some made up myth of some ancient person to explain the Unknown?
Religions are, yes, older systems of thought with some of its tenets used to explain natural phenomenon and the “unknown.” However, I also believe them to be sources of identity for their peoples, bound together by common law, social structure, and conception of the cosmos. They had more of an “affect” on their original practitioners because their beliefs weren’t informed by newer systems of thought like empirical science, etc. Nonetheless, belief systems today aren’t necessarily useless or irreconciable with newer ideas and concepts; they provide a new source of identity, if it be more “spiritual,” and ways to cope with the world.
