Token Car
For parents of a semi adult-21 year old college- do you give a free ride or expect they help pay some bills?
What works for you? Do you give a full ride or do you expect that they pay a few token bills? Just curious. Is it excessive to pay their tuition, books, rent, a new car lease, car insurance, and the utilities? I don’t know so I was just looking for some thoughts.
Also a good home was provided with mom but she WANTED her own apartment.
My rule was you had your room to stay in, food on the table, tuition, fees, and books.
If you wanted a car, you paid for it, insurance, and gas.
I also didn’t pay to retake a class that they failed. I worked hard to pay for their classes; I expected them to work as hard for their grades.
