Help me find out more about Roman Laurel Wreath?

I’m making a roman laurel wreath and I was looking online how people in those days made wreaths and why they are gold and what the olive leave/rural leave symbolizes etc.. but I couldn’t find anything
I found a website that talks about different wreaths for different status of people (men, I guess you can say) But it doesn’t talk about how they made them gold and stuff, do you guys know of any websites?
