Did I just miss the train on railroad stocks?

I originally wanted to buy earlier last week, but oh well. The prices are too high for me right now.

Do not invest in rairoad stocks unless you are looking for a little nostalgia for your stock certificate collection. Any growth in railroads will be only as a result of a few minor government projects such as the proposed bullet train from LA to Las Vegas. The railroads are dead my friend. There are more accidents and derailments in the news today than ever before and with trucking, air, and other forms of shipping and transportation rail is the last choice. You wanna invest in transportation then look at companies leading the way with green technology to make more fuel effecient engines for trucks and airplanes. Also look at the companies that are leading the way in implementing this new green technology into their vehicles, like Ford Motor Company in Detroit which is leading the domestic marketplace in hybrid technology in their trucks and larger vehicles.
