The New Spongebob Squarepants?
Seriously, I think Invader Zim {My favorite show.} and Spongebob Squarepants were Nick’s last hopes. When they canceled IZ, I wanted to kill them. I thought Spongebob was the last good show on that stupid network. That’s until the movie, WTF, after that nothing was good after that, now everything’s happy, stupid, and above all kiddie. And the episodes get worse every following season, like that episode with the tanning and penny foolish, it sucks. Does anyone else feel this way?

the movie was absolutely disappointing.
and post-movie,it’s either they’re facing some major draught of originality, or they’re being asked to water down the jokes in the show. nickelodeon should really research their target audience when it comes to shows like spongebob-knowing that a bulk of the fans actually come from the young adult population.cartoon shows like spongebob(when it first came out) used to provide that right balance between the “jokes that adults will get” and “what is watchable for kids” genres. it’ll be a tragedy for spongebob to continue the way it’s currently going.
