Do you think that the recent tying of the Pope to pardons for pedophile priests proves Papal fallibillity?
Why or why not? I mean Ratzinger wasn’t pope when the mistakes were made so is infallibility retroactive?
*sighs* All men are fallible. Just because Catholics claim that the Pope isn’t, doesn’t make it so, the scriptures prove that the first pope, Peter was indeed a fallible man. He cut off a man’s ear when Christ told him that he shouldn’t use the sword in garden of Gethsemane. He denied the Lord, three times. Even though Jesus predicted it. He sunk in water when the Lord bade him to walk on it and admitted that he was afraid. It’s nothing to be ashamed of, but fallibility is part of what makes us human. To say the pope is infallible is to say he isn’t human, and that simply isn’t true.
