What is the difference between the national guard and the california national guard?

I looked up National Guard in google because I am interested in joining. But I was wondering why I see a website for National Guard and California National Guard. So I am wondering what the difference is between the two or if there is any difference at all?

The nasty guard is state not federal ran, so every state has it’s own. For CA it’s the CA NG. For NY it’s the NY NG. U get the point
