Question about a charles w morgan coin/token i found?
So I found a coin that says “In commemoration of your visit to the charles w morgan” and then a rectangle strip and then “at round hill mass”
Do you know what it is?
Is it simply just a worthless bit of metal that you get from visiting a museum of it?
It is a medal, for a visit to the last of the whaling ships. The Charles W. Morgan the name of the ship was in Round Hill Massachusetts up to 1941 then moved to Mystic Conn. So the medal has to be that old at least. Items like you have do have a collector base and they know much more than I as to how rare it may be. It is far from worthless and worth at least $20 or more depending on condition. items like you have were not easy to sell for one had to find the right buyer but with on line auctions they now can find you. There is no price book out there so it depends on how bad someone wants it. I have paid a lot for a medal, sometimes more than it is worth but I wanted it and who knows when another one would show up. Go to the medal section of ebay and see if you can find the one you have for sale. check out tokens also.
