Medals Pewter

Does anyone know how to clean medals? These are the “sports” award medals. Some have even turned green. HELP!!

My son’s sports medals were stored in our basement and I discovered (too late) that our cat had urinated on them. Now some of them look “green” and there seems to be some corrosion on some of them. Is there any way to save these medals? What can I use to clean them? Any ideas? They are just regular sports “award” medals, not expensive….probably metal, brass, maybe pewter. HELP! I’m so afraid that they’re ruined!!!!!

if they are old it might not just the cat….if they are copper it is just they reacting with O2…just wask them with dish detergent scrub hard
