Some say we are living in a period that has been widely discussed in ancient prophecies. A time wherein all predictions about the end of times, the apocalypse, the end of age – whatever you choose to call it – will soon converge. If this claim is true, he have no way of validating it than with a good, truthful book on 2012.

There have been plenty of 2012 books written and many more are expected to be written and published as 2012 approaches. However the best books so far about this subject are those that have been around for ages.

The Holy Book of Bible.

The Bible has an unblemished record of fulfilled predictions and prophecies. The Old Testament and the new Testament hold predictions that have been revealed in the past and some that are yet to be revealed.

The Old Testament predicted the coming of the Messiah and the circumstances in the life of the Messiah. All these have been fulfilled with the birth of Jesus Christ, the Messiah. The Holy Bible also holds prophecies concerning our future and the Second Coming of Christ along with descriptions that will lead to his eventual coming and the establishment of his kingdom on Earth. The faithful believe that many of the prophecies are being revealed now; many more will be fulfilled in the very near future.

Although the Holy Bible does not set a specific date for the Second Coming – for the day and the hour is not known – it says that we should watch for the sign of the fig tree (Israel). When its leaves begin to come out, the generation that has witnessed it will not pass without the coming of the Messiah.

The Prophecy of the Popes and the Predictions of Pope Leo XIII.

Known for its accuracy, the Prophecy of the Popes is a text attributed to the St. Malachy. It describes the last 122 popes that will rule the Roman Catholic Church – beginning from the pontificate of Pope Celestine II who was elected in 1143 and ending with the papacy of Petrus Romanus or Peter the Roman, the final pope of the Church.

If the prophecies of St. Malachy stick with its record for accuracy, Pope Benedict the XVI, the Gloria Olivae, is the second to the last pope.

Pope Leo XIII also had a vision pertaining to our age as well. Pope Leo XIII, too had a vision about the apostasy within the Catholic Church which will happen 500 years after his vision occurred.

Nostradamus was made famous or infamous by his dire predictions, which many believe have started to unfold ages and ages ago and will end in the not so distant future. In 1994, the lost book of Nostradamus was discovered to contain images prophesying the end of times. The images contained in this so-called lost book describe the events that will lead to the end of the current age.

The Maya Long Count Calendar, the Sibylline Prophecies, the Prophecies of Mother Shipton, the Prophecies Of Merlin Or the Prophetiae Merlini, and the Hopi Prophecies.
