LDS: Random question about the MTC regarding the postal service…?

Do missionaries at the MTC pay for their own stamps or does the MTC provide them? Stupid question, I know, but I thinking about sending my friend some stamps so that he doesn’t have to buy them. Then I thought that maybe he doesn’t have to buy them anyway.
