Six Flags St. Louis originally opened as Six Flags Over Mid-America back in 1971. It is the third of the original Six Flags parks (the other two being in Texas and Georgia) and is located in Eureka, Missouri. The park covers an area of 130 acres and is famed for high standards of cleanliness, being the recipient of numerous clean park awards over the years.

Free tickets are now available for the park (see link above), which boasts over 50 rides and attractions divided between nine themed areas. Tickets to the park also include access to the Hurricane Harbor water park.
St. Louis has many traditional wooden roller coasters, the most recent being Evel Knievel with its distinctive twists and turns threading in and around the structure. Although many roller coasters have been and gone at the theme park, current rides include the River King Mine Train which opened in 1971 with the park, Screamin’ Eagle (opened 1977), Ninja (opened 1989), Batman: The Ride (opened 1995) and Mr Freeze (opened 1998). The Boss, Tony Hank’s Big Spin and the afore mentioned wooden twister Evel Knievel have all opened since the turn of the new century. Other noteworthy rides include a traditional log flume (formerly called the Ice Mountain Splash) and theSix Flags Railroad, both of which opened along with the original park.
Hurricane Harbor water park was added in 1999 and introduced a number of water slides and pools, including the Hurricane Bay wave pool.
For those visitors from cooler climes, the weather can be very hot during the peak months. In the height of the holiday season, night fall often brings with it parades and outdoor family shows.

Northwest Passage [VHS] $19.98 One is compelled to say, in these Politically Correct times, that Northwest Passage takes a distinctly “unenlightened” view of the 18th-century American colonists’ Indian neighbors. Then again, everything about the world portrayed in this early-Technicolor production is harsh: the repressive policies of the Crown-backed Boston magistrates, the expectations Maj. Robert Rogers (Spencer Tracy) has fo… |
