Why does Turkey seek apology from Israel?

It is almost three years that Turkey has been seeking apology from Israel. Back in 2009, Israel killed nine Turks on a boat that was carrying humanitarian help to Palestine (per Turkey). That made Turkey raise uproar and asked Israel to apology. Is it normal to ask or demand apology for nine people, when Turkey massacred millions of Armenians back in 19th and 20 th centuries. It is Turkey’s turn to apology to those people who suffered genocide.
