Will Forte Pulls Off The Aviator Look Perfectly In MacGruber
Whilst looking forward to the UK release of hit comedy ‘MacGruber’, i decided to have a search online and see what shades the military hero would be wearing.
Will Forte (MacGruber) dons a number of different sunglasses throughout the film, most notable several pairs of Ray Ban 3025 Aviator Sunglasses; my favourite of which being the gold framed aviators. Will Forte is a reasonably popular US comedian and actor and is most famous for his work on American show Saturday Night Live – whilst he may not be well-known as a style icon, he certainly looks cool in those aviators.
I prefer these larger style aviators to the small rimmed versions available on the current market (see Jessica Biel’s sunglasses in the new A-Team movie for example), and i particularly like the special leather side-protectors fitted to a few of MacGruber’s sunglasses throughout the film. I’m not totally sure if the side-protectors are made just for the film of if they’re available to buy (either from Ray Ban or external designers), but i imagine they’d have to be bought seperately.
Will Forte wears quite a few different pairs of aviators during the film and i’m not 100% sure if they’re all Ray Ban sunglasses or not, but there’s definitely a good few pairs of really cool Ray Ban’s in the mix. I think these are some of the coolest, most stylish sunglasses of 2010 and a must have addition to any summer wardrobe. Although the Ray Ban’s aren’t cheap, they’re certainly not prohibitively expensive and are affordable for most ‘normal’ people looking for that touch of US style.
The film itself is actually quite good too -. Will Forte is very funny as war veteran and military hero MacGruber, a man who’s won 16 purple hearts, 7 presendential medals and is a Navy SEAL, Green Beret AND an Army Ranger. His mullet’s not bad either.
