Communist Bulgarian
republicans democrats liberals conservatives?

First of all excuse me for my incompetence. Our country got out of communism before 20 years and back then at school they taught us about Russia only. USA was not even mentioned in our textbooks.

I am a Bulgarian and in here we only have 2 political movements – Left – Communist and Right – Democrats.

In USA you have republicans, democrats, liberals, conservatives ( are there any other ?). Could you please explain me the differences and similiarities between them and the most common politics they fight for. Give an example for each type. What type is Obama, what type is Bush ?

This is a serious question I would give 10 points to the answer that explains to me that question in the simplest form possible.
Thank you
Wow ! This is a lot more complicated than i thought.

Maybe that’s why you have the worlds leading economy.

It’s very complex. The United States is a two-party system with two major political parties: Democrats and Republicans; and we have a number of smaller third parties and individual philosophies; Green, Libertarian, Liberal, Conservative, Anarchist, Communist, Socialist, etc. What many of these parties and philosophies mean today was different upon our founding in the 1700′s, so I’ll focus on modern definitions and platforms.
Democrats (American Left Wing): The Democratic Party is a party that is very supportive of government-sponsored public welfare programs (Social Security, Unemployment, Food Stamps, etc.), a highly regulated private sector (meaning businesses and Wall Street), loose immigration restrictions, Amnesty for illegal immigrants, abortion, gun control, and demand-side or Kenysian economics, including higher tax rates wealthier Americans and less supportive of defense spending. By and large, Democrats support a much more centralized power structure: less authority to the 50 sovereign United States and more authority to the U.S. federal government and the United Nations.abortion.
Republicans (American Right Wing): The Republican Party is more supportive of the sovereign authority of the 50 United States, a less centralized U.S. federal government, and providing less authority over American affairs to the United Nations. Republicans support gun rights, religious freedom, moral values, military and defense spending, tight immigration standards, and lower tax rates for all Americans. Republicans are less supportive of social welfare programs, abortion, and are pro-business and opposed to tight regulations on the business sector and Wall Street, and supporters of free market, free enterprise Capitalism, also known as supply-side or Austrian economics.
Conservatives: Conservatives, like liberals, are more about political philosophy than party. Conservatives also are supporters of individual freedoms and liberties, as expressed in the Declaration of Independence and Constitution of the United States of America. Conservatives are center-right or very Right wing. Conservatives largely vote Republican.
Liberals: Liberals are not a political party, but more of a philosophy or ideology, and are pro-liberty and freedom, but are more neglectful of the Constitution. Liberals consider themselves as either moderate-leftists or as Left Wing. Liberals largely vote Democrat.

All four (Dem, Rep, Conserv, Liberal) are mixed in views on monetary policy, free-trade agreements, and censorship. While mostly all are lovers of liberty and the human rights expressed in the American Declaration of Independence and Constitution, they will all point fingers at each other and accuse one another of infringing upon rights, being dictatorial, totalitarian, or intolerant of the opposing view.
President Obama considers himself a Liberal-Democrat, and is supportive of more centralized federal power and higher levels of federal spending, with less emphasis on military spending and more on social welfare. President Obama is favorably considered by Democrats as doing well, but many liberals consider him too conservative. Republicans and conservatives alike consider him Socialist, Marxist and borderline dictatorial, and having blown up our debt worse than Bush.
President Bush considers himself a “Compassionate” Conservative-Republican, and is supportive of less centralized federal power, but is supportive of federal spending on military, defense and social welfare programs. He was largely considered by many Republicans to be a great president but many Conservatives considered him to have spent too much money on military, defense and social welfare and contributing to our debt. Conservatives and Republicans agree, however, that he kept America safe. Liberals and Democrats considered him to be a Fascist, liar and a war-mongerer.

Not the people, but the Republican and Democratic parties are both corrupt, elitist, and sell-outs to special interests and globalism. Both will tell you what you want to hear.
