Coin Kai
can anyone tell me what the symbols read?
my mom recently gave me this $1 Yuan Shih Kai coin and i know the symbols read something like “made in the ?? year of the Chinese Republic” but can anyone tell me exactly what they read??

I can tell you it is a 1918 Chinese Empire/Republic 1 Dollar (1 Yuan) coin, and it should weigh 26.4 grams with 0.7555 troy ounces of silver. The 2nd & 3rd characters (reading left to right) mean “year 7″ which is 1918 on the Chinese Empire/Republic calendar. Counterfeits do exist and many of them are made with iron which would be magnetic. You may want to take the coin to a local coin expert for an evaluation. I hope that helps.
