Low SAT scores. is it still possible for me to get into my top choice schools?

I really want to go to Duke University mainly because my boyfriend is starting there next year and I was planning on joining him. Anyway, I only have a 1962 SAT score but I do have mostly A’s and my GPA is a 3.9. I’m also involved in a lot of extracurrlar activities. Can I still get in if not there a nearby school like UNC or NC State? I just want to be close to my guy when the time comes

I do not believe that you added your SAT score properly. The SAT is rounded to the nearest tenth therefor your score should end in a zero. You probably added in your multiple choice and essay score, you don’t need to add these into your total because they are already factored into your writing score. So just add critical reading, math, and writing, leave out the MC and essay score.

When I looked over their averages it looks like your score falls within their range of average scores.
