Can an automatic car wash break a hard top convertible?

Can a hard top convertible malfunction by going through the automatic car wash? My car dealer told me that I would have to hand wash the car because the drying pressure would mess up the springs on the car top. Is the blower THAT strong? Has this happened to anyone else? I don’t see a problem with it. Also there is no caution in the car manual.

Certainly not, I’ve seen a lot of convertibles getting washed at automatic car washes.

However, it is not recommended to get your car washed at automatic car washes, since the harsh rotation of the washers leave behind fine scratches on the paint job.
