Bus Company
I live in an area with only one bus company and they jack the price up all the time. What can I do?
The prices of the bus go up all the time, they’re always full because they only have 1 bus an hour or 2 buses an hour. Straight up, monopolies are illegal and I want to know who to go to, to get some justice. I want to know what government branches or law whatevers I can go to.
You can take a train, plane, or rent an automobile. There’s nothing illegal about them raising their prices. They have to cover costs and make a profit, and guess what? They have to pay for gas which has gone up tons recently. Also note that just because there’s only one bus carrier does NOT mean they have a monopoly. Any business could
Monopolies are only illegal if they cause customers to suffer because of it. ie if the bus company where to drop fares to below cost because they wanted to put a newly created bus line out of business it would be illegal. Simply raising fares while you’re the only one offering a service though is not.
