How to CLEAN corroded Outdoor Bronze Plaques, HELP !!?

I have been cleaning some outdoor war memorial bronze plaques. Have tried almost everything Tarn-x, vinegar, clr, etc) and to no avail. Some plaques I can get to be pretty good but in 2 days become badly corroded and flash over to green and now look worse than when I started. Any tricks or tips, please. I am also looking for what coating I would preserve these plaques with, perhaps a clear coat of laquer????

As an alloy, Bronze will always patina. Not at all knowing your cleaning method, and as suggested, Tomato is as acidic, but not very practical.

I’d probably try a Buffing wheel on a drill, and jewelers rouge, or a buffing compound similar to that used on vehicles. Then by doing some research, I’d certainly want to find an appropriate clear coat, that will stand up to Outdoor abuse.

In any case the process will be never ending, but is also driven by the environment these plaques are in. I suspect if you were able to visit every Bronze statue on the planet, you’d note they no longer have the original sheen or color of the alloy.
