Cardinals Tickets And Cardinal Fun Trivia
Any fan of the Arizona Cardinals should be very familiar with the long history this team has. Their many years as part of the NFL have not only resulted in a lot of Cardinals tickets sales to loyal fans wanting to see them play, but a lot of good stories as well. Since my parents were Cardinal fans too, we have been buying Cardinals tickets ever since I was a small child. Today, I continue the tradition and get Cardinals tickets for my family too. Being a constant Cardinals ticket buyer, and an all out Cardinals fan, I‘ve heard my share of stories about them, from my dad, the TV, books and magazines. Let me share a few with you that are my favorite! After finding out about them, it’s actually fun to get a Cardinal ticket for their next game and watching them play live.
1. The Arizona Cardinals are out of all other teams, the oldest continuous professional football team in all of the country. The Cardinals havetransferred many times, as well as have had many different names. If you hear these names, they are actually the Cardinal’s names, at one time or another: Morgan Athletic Club, Racine Normals, Racine Cardinals, Chicago Cardinals, St. Louis Cardinals, Phoenix Cardinals and presently, the Arizona Cardinals. Imagine the confusion in Cardinals ticket from one year to another, especially if the team just transferred.
2. Don Coryell is without question one of the greatest coaches that has ever worked with the Arizona Cardinals. This guy was responsible for brining the team great publicity as he was the first coach to ever win 100 games at both the college and the pro football level. That’s quite an accomplishment to achieve but he managed to do it. It just goes to show the talent and skill that are both in front and behind the scenes of the Cardinals.
3. In 2006, the members of the Cardinals started something called the Ring of Honor. They decided some of the deserving individuals that were to be included in this prestigious circle were Charles Bidwell, Jimmy Conzelman, John “Paddy” Driscoll, Marshall Goldberg, Dick “Night Train” Lane, Ernie Nevers, Charley Trippi and Ollie Matson. This was the first group was officially inducted as the initial members of the group.
4. The Cardinals have actually had Olympians be part of the team. Ollie Marson is one example as he took home 2 bronze medals at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics for 400m and the 4×400 relay run events. He won his medals after graduating from the University of San Francisco and before he even played his first season for the Chicago Cardinals.
5. Everyone must know by now with what the team mascot looks line, but not all know his name. Fans name the Cardinals mascot “Big Red”.
