Brass Medal

Can anyone help me determine the value of my Kawai Piano and the best way I can best sell it?

I have a beautiful black (bright shiny wood) Kawai upright piano that I received some time ago.
It is in perfect shape (I never play it or my family) and has the following markings inside the top portion. A gold emblem Kawai KK” and marked NS-20A. There there is a stamp 2124902 in there as well. It has three I guess brass foot pedals and an electrical cord coming out the bottom?? I have the matching perfect bench that came with it. It is on wheels and weighs an incredible amount (took 5 guys to lift it up 4 stairs). It appears perfect except the medal hinges and foot pedals have some minor discoloration (just need shining).
I went on a piano site and got a ton of different answers. I contacted dealers here and consignment shops and I dont think I found an honest one yet. All tried to scam offering 500-2000, some saying it is worth as much as 3000. Can anyone help and advise a good way to sell?? THANKS ALL

Kawai is a good brand. Not top notch but good. I would have someone come and look at the ivories (the keys) and look at the strings internally. (A piano tuner if questioned before hired might even be able to do this for you.) It could be worth anything from $1500-$4000. It really does depend on the keys (are they chipped at all? This will down the value.) and the strings. If they are older, loose, or not good strings that can down the value also. Some discoloration of the hinges and foot pedals should not down the value at all.

There are actually many pianos that sell on e-bay! People find one that they like and get into bidding wars and I have seen many go for more than they were worth. Another way is to advertise in your county newspaper and any other newspaper that you may have around where you live. Depending on where you are located people are always looking for good pianos and will pay for a nice one.
