Artillery Tradition

Artillery Tradition
Becoming an army officer?

I am thinking of following the family tradition of joining the army (my father was a Officer in the RMP and my grandfather was a RSM in the artillery.

I am a British citizen living in South Africa. I have the South Africa Matric – Like A Levels I guess.

I would like to join as an officer. Can anyone that has been there help me about with what its like, the training, sandhurst, selection etc etc.

Also how do they select your regiment? I always wanted to join the Gloucestershire regiment, I believe they are 1st Battalion Rifle now. That or the RMP.

Cheers

You do not need to be a graduate to go to Sandhurst – about 20% of officer cadets do not have a degree.
