UK and US Military Aircraft To Comply With New Safety Laws
In a joint move by the UK and US governments, new legislation has been put in place to make military aircraft safer and more reliable. The move follows growing concerns from some of the top military and aviation officials that the current safety standards are not up to scratch and personnel are being seriously injured or losing their lives as a result. Military officials from both governments have agreed on a new set of build and maintenance safety policies, following a comprehensive review of current legislation.Below are details of parts of the new legislation
Double testing. Each aircraft that is built and supplied to either the US and UK armed services will also go through another testing process by an independent aviation group. Any issues that this group identifies, even as small as faulty solenoids or door hinges, must be addressed by the armed force who owns the vehicle. There will also be a practice put in place where knowledge about specific hazards or faults can be shared between nations, so that each can take action to enhance their craft
Safety reviews. A great many military vehicles suffer from the fact even though they have top spec safety features when they are built, by the time they are five years old or so, these feature are not up-to-date.Under the new laws put in place, every aircraft must undergo a complete review of its safety features every four years, and where applicable updated to meet current standards
Yearly Maintenance. Military vehicles already undergo frequent maintenance, however the maintenance process varies between armed services and even between different military units. Under the new system, every vehicle will be submitted to another independent body each year for a full service to replace and multicore cable, damaged circuit boards or mil spec cable for example. This will tie in closely with the safety features review, but will offer and more regular opportunities to fit vehicles with the latest accessories and components that are developed every year.

Armed Forces (Dig) (Spkg) $6.48 Armed Forces was the last title in a trilogy of albums that rank with the greatest three-LP series in pop-rock history. In retrospect, it also now appears to be the one on which the young Costello’s pop tendencies peaked, right before they began to “mature” and grow less accessible. “Accidents Will Happen” features a melody line as beautiful as any ever written; “Oliver’s Army” easily competes wit… |
