If Mithraism predates Christianity as a mystery religion, why were no Mithraic temples found in Pompeii?
After all, Pompeii was destroyed in 79 AD, and the earliest Mithrae found so far date to the reign of Antonius Pius, who ruled from 138-160.

I like the claims that Mitras was born of a virgin. Pretty funny when you consider the myth says he was born of a rock. How does one determine if a rock is a virgin?
