Were the Ancient Romans and the Samurai, of unsound mind and cowardly, as suicide was a big part of their?

culture, and people today say suicide is bad because it is cowardly and selfish

What I really want to know is why people today say such things about suicide when greater minds embraced it? Are people today namby pamby and neurotic?

not really no. In their cultures suicide was one of the only ways to preserve “honor” which to them was more important than anything else.
