Advertising Token
Is reacting with kindness, patience, and love just as infectious as reacting with anger, frustration, offense?

During this upcoming holiday season, many lose sight of the reasons behind the holiday… in our preparations for it, we fight over parking spaces, push our way to the best sales, argue when a store runs out of something they advertised, get cut off in traffic… you know what I mean…

So, does the way we respond to others’ actions affect anything? If we are cut off in traffic, what will really change if we flip the person off? (this is just the token event, insert your own idea of undesirable behavior here). What will change if we remember that the other person is caught up in the frenzy and react with understanding? Will that affect the other person’s mood, attitude, behavior? Will it affect ours? Is it important enough to be mindful of this in our undertakings? And if it is, then is it important enough to do every day?

Oh I think our attitude completely determines our “altitude” in life and with people! If we try to always see the glass as half FULL instead of half empty then life changes dramatically and we CAN and do make a difference every day in the lives and attitudes and moods of others too.

I was in a traffic jam at a major intersection yesterday just at rush hour of course and the lights in all directions were blinking red. No one could rush or go any faster than traffic allowed and yet this ignoramus behind us a few cars was just LAYING ON HIS horn in frustration and anger. I just can’t believe people. We have little control over others but if we utilize the control over SELF that is ours to use – we can change our own little section of the world I SO believe this!

Giving a frowning unhappy looking person a SMILE and hello might just change his day and he will change the next persons – it’s just like that wonderful movie about passing it on and up…. it always works, it always makes a difference for the better! : )
